BASIC FUNCTION
M2 is looking for a driven individual that wants to be an integral part of our Estimating Team. The Estimators primary responsibilities will be to provide accurate and timely takeoffs, conduct solicitations, and attend prebids/bids. Secondary responsibilities will include purchasing and buyouts during the award phase process. The position will work directly with the other estimating team members to successfully complete the bid process. This position has the potential for growth into a lead role. Focuses for short‑term goals are competitive bid projects and comparison of purchases. Focuses for long‑term goals are the planning and implementation of estimating strategies and formulation of new databases and comparisons to historical data.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate and prepare pricing for multiple divisions and scopes of work for each estimate.
- Complete accurate takeoffs based on ever-changing specifications and addendums.
- Ability to handle multiple project bids concurrently.
- Analyze and evaluate subcontracted and vendor bid scopes and costs.
- Build (Cultivate and maintain) vendor relationships.
- Visit project sites for pre-bids and delivery of bids.
- Ability to issue PO’s and Subcontracts during the award phase.
- Analyze job results to update estimating processes to increase accuracy.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years of valid construction experience. Experience in the water and wastewater field is preferrable.
- The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide sufficiently to figure normal calculations.
- The ability to read, interpret and understand plans, specifications, and contracts.
- Maintain valid PA driver’s License.
- Trained and efficient in electronic takeoff software (such as E-Takeoff, bluebeam, HCSS, etc.)
- Trained & efficient in Microsoft Suites such as Excel, Outlook, and Word
- The ability to multi-task effectively
- Maintain a communication system with your team and company personnel.
- Strong analytical approach
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
- Strong organization skills – work with tight deadlines while working on multiple projects at the same time.
- Residence or home must be within thirty (40) miles of the M2 Construction Office in Lancaster PA
